Bring your dancing shoes!

Did anyone who attended last year's Boswell Sisters Centennial Celebration pick up the group Shout Sister's CD? I thought I had, but I can't find it. Or maybe it was Stolen Sweets...
Thanks, Nemours

We’re unique….performing standards, jazz and more contemporary tunes but in a big band format...appealing to a wide range of music tastes...staying true to the big band era, but with a fresh, modern twist and sound that only a big band from New Orleans could create. From Frank Sinatra to Norah Jones to Stevie Wonder, we’re a big band with a big kick. Swingaroux is fresh...classy...ambitious…
motivated and ready to knock your socks off.

How about adding "Balboa" to the pull down menu. Pretty please?

Nathalie Gomes has just announced that Mickey Fortanasce will be teaching Balboa at Dance Renaissance! Locals who have danced with Mickey or seen him dance are swooning! He and his partner Kelly Arsenault won the International Balboa Championship at Balboa Rendezvous in 2006 and 2007 as well as the American Classic Balboa Championship at the 2008 All Balboa weekend. Sadly, Kelly won't be able to join him for Dance Renaissance, but that shouldn't stop follows from signing up!

After this week's Jazz Culture and Dance class, THE STOLEN SWEETS from Portland, Oregon will be playing at Dance Quarter for social dancing until midnight and possibly later. It sounds like a not to miss opportunity!
"Comprised of vocalists Jen Bernard, Lara Michell, and Erin Sutherland, guitarists Pete Krebs and David Langenes (both of whom sing) and double bass player Keith Brush, THE STOLEN SWEETS repertoire includes material from the 1920s-1940s. Their arrangements are inspired by the Boswell Sisters tight 3-part harmonies." http://www.stolensweets.com

My birthday falls on Thanksgiving this year, so I'm celebrating it this Friday (Nov. 21) instead, by coming to Nathalie and Chance's Jazz Culture & Dance Gathering, and staying for dancing til my knees crack. If I or anyone has any steam after that, then maybe some Frenchmen Street. Or a post dance cocktail at Bridge Lounge. :)
Now hopefully this year I won't get sick and miss my own party!
