About Us

Welcome to Gumbo Groove!

Welcome to Gumbo Groove, where varieties of art, theatre & dance come together to spice up a melting pot of information for the New Orleans area. Gumbo Groove serves up the best ingredient of local cultural flavor: the sheer enjoyment of it, with a sprinkle of swing, a dash of Latin and Tango, a pinch of Zydeco and Cajun, a smidgeon of ballroom and plenty of lagniappe on the side.

Wanna add your event to the pot? Or promote your workshop? Or host an informal gathering of friends at your favorite nightclub? Or publicize a performance? Feel free to toss your news into the mix. Anyone is welcome to post. There’s just one rule: keep our recipe pure.

Like gumbo’s holy trinity of onions, okra and bell peppers, Gumbo Groove promotes art, culture and fun.

Our resources include an easy to use online calendar (where you can add your own public events!), a photo gallery you may add too (so we can see what we are missing!), e-mail lists from other organizations so that you will always be informed, and various other user contributed content.

We welcome you to the site, and please let us know if you have any suggestions.

If you have some suggestions for Gumbo Groove, please post them on the forums.

Gumbo Groove is set up so that you may easily add to the recipe. If you have more input (such as instructions, etc.) and wish to become a cook, please e-mail us at info@gumbogroove.com.

We are glad to have everyone be a part of the groove. We hope you help make this the best recipe for fun! Bon Apetit!
