I am happy to announce we have a special guest tomorrow night at Ernst Cafe! From Austin, TX, The Finer Things will be performing!

The 7:30 PM Balboa lesson has been canceled. Instead, The Finer Things will be performing from 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM. We heard The Finer Things play at DBA tonight and were so blown away by their talent that we asked them to perform at Ernst while in town. What a treat!

NEW ORLEANS (7/12/08) - The Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong Summer Jazz Camp is accepting applications applications for Swing Dance Classes which runs from Monday, July 21 - Friday, August 1 each day from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The classes are taught by author, choreographer, dancer, comedian, and actress Norma "Queen of Swing" Miller and New York choreographer & dancer Mickey Davidson.

This year Esplanade Avenue’sFaubourg St. John merchants (between Ponce de Leon Street and Esplanade’s 3100 Block) will celebrate Bastille Day on Saturday, July 12 from 5pm to 9pm.

They invite you to enjoy live music from Vavavoum and the String Beans, play the French game pétanque at Fortier Park (across Esplanade from Café Degas),participate in the many children’s activities planned, and enjoy the food and drink. Admission is free.

Don't forget another fun dance at the WWII Museum. This week Nathalie (Hop Swing and a Jump) will be teaching the lesson, followed with live music by Vavavoom. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Just an FYI- we had 80 people for the first lesson with 150 attendees, and 60 people for the second lesson with 180 attendees.
